Highly restored, Documented, Every factory option, Big Block C2
Firstly, it's almost a given that any Corvette enthusiast will name the '67 Sting Ray as THE most desirable Corvette to own. Why? Big block C2 Corvettes are the blue chip material investors want. They are, and will likely remain, highly desirable. This astonishing Silver Pearl C2 coupe has the ultimate Tri-Power 427 and a Muncie 4-speed transmission combo. And speaking of body color, well, anyone can own a red Corvette. Step away from the pack. This IS the centerpiece for a serious collector.
Approaching this car you'll immediately recognize this “shark fin” Vette as a collectors dream. The fiberglass panels are finished by craftsmen who made sure the Silver Pearl lacquer complimented their skilled workmanship. Each panel gap is exactly as you'd expect. Each chromed piece brilliantly shines. A glance down reveals the correct stainless side pipes which are equipped with traditional finned heat shields. And not far away in each corner resides the classic 15 inch 'turbine' aluminum wheels which still have the original Firestone Super Sports!
Lifting the stinger hood up reveals all the glory of that wonderful General Motors power plant. You'll notice the bright and familiar Chevy orange which coats the valve covers, block and oil pan. But the real excitement comes from a fully rebuilt and detailed 427 cubic inch Tri-Power V8 with the correct casting number 3904351 which is indicative for 1967 model year. This high performance L71 takes air in through the chromed and correctly detailed cleaner where three Holley 2-barrel carburetors are nestled atop of an aluminum Winter intake. Further back is the correct transistor ignition where sleeved wires curve over the exhaust manifold. A sharp eye will notice the correctly shrouded fan and tower clamps up front.
The star of the show under this Vette is a correct, tried and true Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Everything looks factory fresh including the fiberglass floor tubs. But look around, everything is fully restored from the double A-arm front and independent rear sports suspension, to the transverse rear spring and factory paint markings. Of course, all correctly finished classics include a new gasoline tank and this is no different. But as a bonus, we have the original gas tank which includes the ORIGINAL TANK STICKER! Very rare!
Inside the cockpit is as fresh as the rest. The seat fabric, dash, door panels, head liner, and carpet are all in factory new condition. Have a seat inside. Grip the fully restored Corvette Rally wheel and notice the wooden framed wheel around the brilliant C2 Corvette cross flag horn button. Then glance down the waterfall designed center column to the AM/FM radio which welcomes you to the beautifully chromed shifter that awaits your next move. And this highly optioned unit includes power windows and air conditioning! Amazing.
Lastly, this Corvette was expertly restored by Mike Mancini and his crew of American Muscle Car Restorations. Virtually all OE parts were used in restoration. No expense was spared, including $35k on the 5 RPO N89 Starburst Aluminum wheels and red line tires. The results of Mancini's meticulous attention to detail and impeccable workmanship speaks for itself. In 2016, at Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals (MCACN), it was judged by some of the most highly respected Corvette judges in the world as awarded Concours Gold, scoring 996 out of 1000 points and Celebrity Pick Award. And why not? This is believed to be the highest optioned '67 427/435 coupe ever built. If it is a blue-chip investment quality Corvette you are after, this is a worthy centerpiece of any collection.
At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. We want you to enjoy your new car from the minute it's delivered and the trailer door drops. Before a car leaves our shop, it's gone through comprehensively, both visually and mechanically. We do more than just kick the tires, though: We road test (if the weather permits us here in Cleveland!) and polish it inside and out.
We're proud of our inventory and do our best in describing each example as accurately as possible. As with all classic cars, it can be difficult to know the true miles and history. Further, what one person sees is a gem, another person might not. So before making an investment, we encourage you to hire the services of a private inspector for a third party opinion. After all, we want you to be happy with your car for years to come!
No matter where you'd like your car shipped to, let us make the arrangements. We've shipped cars all over the world. Delivering your new ride in an enclosed carrier is nothing new for us. We'd be honored to arrange all the logistics for you! Every car we sell, from Sunday drivers through the rarest exotics, is meant to be driven-get out there!
If you have any questions before, during or after the sale, do not hesitate to contact us. It's what we're here for! Call us at (440) 914-0000, write to us at sales@motorcargroup.com or stop by and see the new shop at 6441 Davis Industrial Parkway, Solon OH 44139. We're 26 miles from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and we can pick you up when you come to inspect or purchase your car.
We welcome any prospective buyers, their buyer's agents or inspectors from Monday through Friday during business hours, as well as evenings and weekends by appointment. We're car people who love what we do, and you'll feel it from the first time you contact us. Give the R&H crew the opportunity to serve you: Our passion and attention to detail set us apart!
