Just new to our inventory, this super clean C4 Vette comes to us from one of our customers. He's a car enthusiast that knows how to pamper cars! He's known to buy them but rarely drive them.
A walk towards this car and you'll immediately recognize the sleek C4 styling. But a closer look reveals a well pampered car. The paint is in gorgeous condition and the panels are as you'd expect. There isn't any evidence of the harmful weather conditions that can occur here in northeast Ohio. That's because it's been stored in a climate controlled garage for the last 23 years! All the glass and lenses are crisp and clear. Even the wheels are without any scrapes or curb rash.
Inside is much the same as the exterior. This nearly perfect cabin is finished in Saddle cloth which we think is rare to see these days. The dash and door panels are free of any cracks or blemishes. The six-way power adjustable drivers seat still works perfectly. The removable top has never been taken off that we know of as the last owner didn't want any dust or harm to come to the interior. The gear shifter moves like a knife through butter.
And speaking of gears, the 5.7 liter V8 fires right up with the twist of the key. To keep her in top running order, a minor tune-up was done. The fuel injectors were cleaned as well as the gas tank and fuel lines. New oil, filter and plugs completed the tune-up. And to keep things cool, the AC unit was recharged (R12).
In 1989 Car and Driver magazine had this to say.
“Better still is how sweetly the 1989 Corvette drives. You can stroke it around town as smoothly as a rowboat on a glassy pond. The clutch, the gearbox, and the throttle linkage—also revised this year—are so easy to coordinate that you grease away from stoplights with all the elegance of a BMW. Shifting is a pleasure, too, because the gear lever feels as if it were pivoting on a jeweled movement.”
